A joint programme at Shillong in the form of a symposium ,was organised in association with Calcutta Management Association , on investment in capital market and on investor risk management. Mr. V. Tandon of MCX, the largest commodity exchange in India, spoke about the possibility of investment in commodity market and also elaborately explained how the movement in commodities takes place. Mr.Moloy Biswas of CDSL spoke about the role of CDSL in the capital market. He also spoke about consumer awareness and various methods of investor protection. Professor A.P. Pati of NEHU University also spoke about the capital market as well as given guidelines to new investors in the volatile capital market.

At the start of the symposium Mr.S.B. Sarmah, President GMA welcomed the gathering and spoke about the various options for investment before the investors.
