Regional Management Conclave collaboration with AIMA

GMA in association with AIMA , organized the biggest event of the year by holding the N E Regional Management Conclave in Guwahati with a day long programme at the ITA Centre. The theme of the programme was “LEADERSHIP IN THE AGE DISRUPTION”. Over 800 students from front ranking educational institutes of the region and invited dignitaries attended the programme. Mr. Mohandas Pai President AIMA and Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Sanjive Roy, General Manager - North East Frontier Railway, Mr. Rajiv Kaul – Chairman NICCO Group and Hony. Consul General of Republic of Korea and Mr. D N Barua, President – GMA addressed the audience in the inaugural session while Mr S B Sarmah – Vice-President GMA offered the vote of thanks at the end of the said session.

In the four plenary sessions that followed , the first one with the theme “Be prepared to reinvent” was chaired by Prof. Ashok Banerjee – President Calcutta Management Association while Ms. Geetima Das Krishna – a leading economist and Dr. B. Panda – Professor and Dean , School of Economic & Management Information Services – NEHU, Shillong were the penal speakers.

The second session with the theme “Disrupt the Disruptor” was chaired by Mr. Shantikam Hazarika, founder Director of the Assam Institute of Management Guwahati and also an eminent management educator. Mr. P. Balaji, Director of Regulatory, External Affairs & CSR Vodafone (India) Ltd. and Mr. Monojit Mazumdar, Partner and Leader of Analytics for Delotte India , were the penal speakers.

“Disruption of Employment” was the theme of the third session which was chaired by Mr. W. Synrem, (IIES) Economic Adviser to North Eastern Council, Govt of India while Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President of TATA Steel (India) and Prof. Ashok Banerjee, President Calcutta Management Association were the penal speakers.

The fourth session on “ Managing Disruptive Changes” was chaired by Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor, Assam Down Town University, Guwahati while Dr. S P Singh, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University, Guwahati and Mr. Mukulesh Barua, Director, Assam Institute of Management , Guwahati and Chair Professor ONGC were the penal speakers.

The Conclave concluded successfully with exchange of ideas amongst the distinguished speakers and the participants. Many useful take aways emerged for strengthening management concepts in mitigating the challenges of disruptive changes.
