Seminar On “Winning threat of Cyber war”on 6th February 2016

Guwahati Management Association organized hugely attended seminar entitled “ Winning threat of Cyber war” on the 6th Feb 2016 in N E D F I auditorium, Guwahati . The seminar was sponsored by the State bank of India, Numaligarh Refineries Ltd, Assam Police, B S N L &Indusind Bank. The seminar was attended by bank officials, people from telecom providers including B S N L, students from various institutions, officials from Assam Police, A S E B group of Companies and members of social bodies like Rotary Club, Sr Engineers Forum etc.

Mr KuladharSaikia I P S, Assam Police, Prof GautamBarua, Director, I.I.I.T. Guwahati and Mr M K Seth C G M, BSNL had participated in the inaugural session, where Mr Saikia elaborated the background of Cybercrime worldwide and the present magnitude of the threat in electronic transactions, sensitive databases and social media. Noted management expert Mr ShantikamHazarika moderated the session. Also the session was attended by Mr MukeshSahai, Director General Assam Police.

The technical session was extremely lively with experts like Mr Kinsuk De, Head, Consumer Risk and Security management Services, T C S, Delhi, Dr. Ferdous Ahmed, from IIIT Guwahati, Mr AshwaniKalita, Cybercrime Lab., Assam Police and Advocate Mr. NilotpalDeka, legal expert on cybercrime giving their presentations.

The valedictory session was presided over by Dr D N Buragohain, the founder Director of IIT, Guwahati. The session formed a committee to compile the recommendation and send the same to concerned authorities.
