A visit to Akshay Patra facilities near Amingaon, Guwahati was facilitated by ex AIMA President Mr Mohandas Pai. The GMA members were highly impressed about how well organized and scientifically managed, a philanthropic organization can be and which prepares 70,000 hot midday meals for school children every day and distributes to all schools within a radius of 50 kms, in hot and hygienic conditions.

Mr B Gupta, Operations Manager, Akshay Patra explained to the GMA team about the working pattern of the Organization, which gets Govt. aid to the extent of less than 40% of the expenses and how it has to heavily depend on donation from public and sponsorship from business and industry houses to cover the rest. Also, Mr Gupta took the team around the entire central production facilities.
