EXPLORATION OF FEASIBILITY OF MANUFACTURING IT COMPONENTS IN ASSAM

Guwahati Management Associationorganized a seminar on the theme “Manufacturing of IT components in Assam” in the auditorium of Assam Museum on 26th September at 4:00 PM.

Mr. D.N.Barua President of GMAwelcomed Dignitaries and guests to the seminar and outlined the significance of exploring opportunities of manufacturing IT components in collaboration with AMTRON and Department of Information Technology, Government of Assam. The seminar was well attended by about eighty participants including members of GMA, faculty from academic insititutes and members from public.
Mr. Rajib Bora, IAS, Principal Secretary, department of IT, Government of Assaminaugurated the seminar and delivered key note address. He spoke at length the huge potential of creating aIT hub in Assam to manufacture IT components backed by the Policies of Central government. The production of IT components in this part of India is essential to bridge the gap between import and domestic production.

Mr. D S Pegu, Managing Director, AMTRONspoke about the possibilities of manufacture of various IT components locally by entrepreneurs and AMTRON will extend all possible help in setting up enterprise.
Dr. DebdasKakoti, Ex Prof IIT, Madrasand Ex Vice Chancellor, Dibrugarh University participated in the seminar as guest speaker.
Mr. S B Sarmah, Hony General secretary, GMA formally handed over the AIMA LMA Award to President GMA through MrRajib Bora, Principal secretary, IT department , Government of Assam.

Mr P K Borthakur, Vice President offered the vote of thanks to the dignitaries, guest speakers and members of public.
