GMA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION Held ON 24th AUGUST, 2012

Guwahati  Management Association in collaboration with – All India Management Association, (AIMA) New Delhi held a Shaping Young Minds Programme at Pragjyoti  ITA Cultural Centre, Machkhowa on 24th August, 2012.

The objective of this mega event was that otherwise talented youths and professionals of North East have not been found suitablefor working in actual working environment in the field due to lack of confidence, mind and mind sets. They need exposure to distinguished extraordinary Individuals who have by overcoming all obstacles of the todays modern world have been able to successfully reach their goal. Guwahati  Management Association in collaboration with – All India Management Association, (AIMA) New Delhi held a Shaping Young Minds Programme at Pragjyoti  ITA Cultural Centre, Machkhowa on 24th August, 2012. 


Young participants nearly 1000 numbers of below 30 years of age from Management Institutes, Universities and Research organization from whole of North East joined the programme The deliberation of the invited icons who spoke everything from their own life extremely helped the students The speakers in four sessions were Mr. Vijay Thandani – the promoter of NIIT who spoke how NIIT was developed to a world famous institute from a small beginning, Mr. RaghunathMedge&GangaramTalekar – Chairman & Secretary of Mumbai Tiffin Box deliberated on how they have been able to manage and sustain the distribution of 5 lakhs Tiffin Box and then taking home every day within a service area of 70 kmswith 5000 workers and explained the operation which has been the subject  of case studies in famous  business schools of India & abroad. Mr. Rajiv Vastupal – CMD of Rajiv Petrochemicals Ltd. (Allahabad) spoke on how he set up the Petrochemicals Industry and diversified to various petrochemical product . Speakers for last session was Mr. N.M. Bora immediate past CMD of Oil India Ltd. And now Technical Member of Petroleum & Natural Gas – spoke on overall problem faced by Oil sectors of India, how it has been sustained with background of his own contribution with problems faced and result achieved.

Local conference chairman who moderated the session including introduction to the speakers including  interaction with participants were Sri AbhijitBarua , CMD of Premier Cryogenics Ltd., Sri H.N. Das – Former Chief Secretary Govt. of Assam , Sri H.K. Sharma, IAS – Commissioner of Education , Govt. of Assam, Sri Bolin Bordoloi, Former General Manager of Tata Tea Ltd.

Large number of students participated in the question and answer session which was very useful and lively.

Initially Sri D.N. Barua – President of GMA had welcome the participants, Guests, distinguished speakers from outside the state and Sri Sanjay Grover – Director AIMA explained in brief the concept and design of the programme on behalf of AIMA.

It was expected that from this whole day programme the young talents of North East would carry home something which might grip their imagination to use for shaping them. GMA shall frequency hold such programme to make its idea bear fruits in the real field.
