III. Workshop on safety , occupational Health and Environment

Apart from avoidance of business risk and corporate sector responsibility , the adherence of the principles of safety , occupational health and environment in the work palace shall go a long way in bonding ties between employees and management.
One day workshop has been designed to achieve that objective.
Venue: Hall of Assam Government Pensioner’s Bhawan
Participants : 100 from  different industriesincluding Assam State Electricity Board and few from Management Institutes .
Chief Guest : Dr. Bhupati Das , Managing Director – Numaligarh Refinery Ltd.
Speaker : Mr. D.N. Barua , Ex. Managing Director – Assam Industrial Development Corporation .
Faculties : Team of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. ( Guwahati refinery ) who obtained the National Safety award in two consecutive years. They are -

2. Mr. A.K. Mathur 
3. Mr.S.N. Mathur 
4. Mrs. Dr. Jitu Khound Kakati 

IV. Chemical Weapon Convention

Awareness Programmes on chemical Weapon Convention .
Guwahati Maangement Association in collaboration with Ministry of Chemical Council organized an awareness programme on chemical weapon convention (CWC)
The details about the chemicals Weapon Convention act was explained by different speakers from Ministry  of chemical & Petrochemicals , Govt of India and Chemical Council of India .
Date : 20.03.2010
Participants : 50 from Chemical Industries Traders of Chemicals, Drug manufacturers Representative of nursing homes etc. 
Resources Person : 
Three representatives of Ministry of Petrochemicals of the rank of Jt. Secretary , Dy. Secretary , Director General of foreign Trade , Secretary General and Advisor , Indian Chemical Council. The main objective of the convention was to aware the participants that India was one of the early signatory coutry to the chemical weapons treaty on 13th January, 1993. However , it was enacted asstatute by Indian Parliament only on 1st July , 2005. Therefore ,Govt of India is going strongly to make the industrial community, traders and  the people to make aware of its global obligation and international commitment . 
In Assam  this was 1st awareness programme on CWC through which manufacturers , traders , exporters, importers etc. come to know about the rules and regulation to be observed by them while dealing with different chemicals. Mr. D.N. Barua , President GMA welcomed the participant and guest. 
Mr. S.B. Sarmah , Hon. General Secretary GMA conducted the proceeding .
